John L. Park

Dr. Park is an associate professor and extension specialist in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University. He received his B.S. in Agricultural Economics from Brigham Young University where his emphasis was Food Industry Management. He continued his study of agricultural marketing with an M.S. in Agricultural Economics from Utah State University and a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University

From 1996 to 2000, Dr. Park conducted research for the Food Industry Management Program at Cornell University. Past research focused on consumer food marketing issues and strategic business management. His research has also investigated the strategic use of retail promotion. From 2000 to 2003, Dr. Park was a visiting assistant professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University teaching agribusiness marketing and management, and has since been invited to stay on in the department. Dr. Park has served as a Vice President for the Food Distribution Research Society, and remains active in the leadership of that organization.

Currently Dr. Park is primarily involved in providing statewide leadership and coordination for Extension educational programs and research for agricultural cooperatives in Texas. He works closely with the Texas Agricultural Cooperative Council and  is a member of the board of directors for that organization.

Dr. Park teaches one undergraduate course in agricultural cooperatives and is an advisor for Texas A&M University's student chapter of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA).
